CRX vs. S800

Oldschool madness. 1st generation of Honda CRX (1983-1987) vs. Honda S800 (1966-1970).


Couple of sexy backs. When I started to look up what should I buy for my first car, CRX was on top of my list. Finally everybody convinced me, it hasn't got enough room inside. Now I imagine how much room can possibly be in oldschool Honda S800. Ultra small and ultra light, with only 771kg (1698,2lbs) 

Red ED9 CRX

Honda CRX ED9 with d16a9 130hp stock engine. It was the first Japanese car I felt in love with it. I still feel some butterflies. With it's lightweight body, CRX is ideal for racing project. Just remember for instance SS Works CRX with B20 unit installed.

So here you go, not one, but two red oldschool monsters. Too bad cars like this aren't in production any more and they so rare, chances of finding one in a good shape is like winning a lottery.

OLD vs. NEW

Time is passing bye, cars are changing, oldschool style is no longer popular. But legends will live forever, lightweight petrol monsters will never be forgotten. It breaks my heart seeing less and less true sport Japanese cars on the road.

CRX with Mugen RNR

Just an oldschool CRX ready for racing. That green shade really looks awesome, CRX was my wish when I was a kiddo and this color would be one of the most possible choices for sure!

Mugen RNR rims, Mugen bumpers and sideskirts, Bride seats and a roll cage. Damn I’m so curious what is hidden behind the hood, but I really don’t know where I got these photos. If anyone knows, please share it:)

Mugen RNR on Civic EF9

Civic EF on Mugen RNR rims, another oldschool hot-hatch. It was the first Civic model that had VTEC B series installed. B16 after 20 years still popular among tuners because of it’s potential in tuning and reliability. Japanese really know how to build an engine, although oldschool body shapes and designs might not be popular in mainstream, JDM enthusiasts know it’s classic and they love it:)

Must say I regret they don’t produce cars like this any more. With 150 stock horsepower engine isn’t productive like some monsters, but 900kg lightweight body is something that new cars don’t have any more. Check out the potential of an old EF9 like this: Spoon Sports Civic EF9 video. Enjoy!

BIPPU – VIP styled Toyota Crown

Bippu, what does it mean? It’s modification of JDM luxury cars with purpose to make them even more luxurious. It’s also called VIP style (it’s obviously why). Whole bippu thing started with Yakuzas. They used to drive around with high-priced European luxury cars and they were getting too much attention by the police and rival gangs. Luxury EU cars were spotted easily, so they decided to drive JDM cars wich don’t get so much attention by others. But JDM limo sedans were not so exotic, so they started to mod them Bippu style and make pimp-mobils out of them:)

Typical bippu mods are big wheels, large mufflers, and lowered suspensions straight to the ground. It was all made on JDM sedans and limos, and with years, bippu style passed on minivans and kei cars and got very popular among styling freaks.

83’ Toyota Corolla AE71 – oldschool hachi

Totally renovated oldschool Toyota Corolla AE71 (the fourth Corolla generation) from Philippines.
Hachis deserve to live, respect to renovation project, this AE71 Corolla looks like a brand new car. Equipped with LSD from AE86 GTS and powered by “Black top” engine – Toyota’s 20v 4A-GE engine, which came out in 5.generation of Corollas and is originally equipped with ITB. Sounds evil, as it really is!

Restored oldschool 1977 Skyline GT

Renovation of 1977 Nissan Skyline. What a project! Imagine collecting most of the parts of 30 years old Nissan Skyline. Respect to John Oshima, because of his Skyline renovation project, one oldschool Skyline is back on the road.

Tuned Oldschool Honda Civic 1st generation

Oldschool car I'd love to have. 1st generation of Honda Civic which was produced between 1972 and 1979. Not many of those left, especially not tuned-ones. Lots of Mugen parts, I wonder if weight is correct (400kg?). Honda sure knew how to make cars even in 80s=)

Oldschool Mugen CR-X

Can't get enough of oldschool 1st generation Mugen Honda CR-X. Too bad not many of those left nowadays on streets. Most of those, who are still in one peace, are restored and only real enthusiasts know their true value, it's priceless. Actually it's much better have them restored, than seeing wannabe-racer kiddos with no respect outside, doing burnouts with old school CR-X Honda and destroying them.

KPGC10 Oldschool Nissan Skyline

Skyline KPGC10, a first coupe version of Skylines started production back in 1969. It had a 2.0L, straight 6, DOHC engine which produced for that time crazy 160 hp. No more words, enjoy the pictures.
